Cold Steel Crawford Model 1 - genius EDC knife, 8.9 cm long clip-point blade, made of 4034SS steel, sturdy linerlock, fast flipper, Zy-Ex handle scales, with lanyard loop and pocket clip.
The Crawford Model 1 is a collaboration between the talented custom knife maker Wes Crawford and Cold Steel. They were inspired by one of Crawford's most popular custom knives, which they further perfected into a much more affordable and still high-quality model. The 8.9 cm long blade with its clip-point shape and the ricasso at the tip strongly resembles its model. The blade material used is Japanese 4034SS steel, which is not only particularly corrosion-resistant but also has good edge retention. When closed, the guard serves as a flipper with which the blade can be quickly and easily brought into the working position. A sturdy liner lock then holds it reliably in position. The Zy-Ex used for the handle scales fits comfortably in the hand and can withstand heavy stress thanks to its fibreglass reinforcement. A lanyard loop and a pocket clip complete the knife's features.
Cold Steel was founded in 1980 by Lynn C. Thompson and is based in California. Lynn is a true martial arts expert who has been dedicated to the study of many martial arts since his early youth, including Ruy Karate, Thai Boxing, Wado, Jeet Kune Do, Kali and Jiu Jitsu. He is also an extremely good shooter and skilled hunter as well as an excellent fighter in stick fighting, sword fighting, sabre fencing and a master in all types of knife fighting. He practices his martial arts as a full-contact variant, with only a minimum of protective equipment. In addition, he has held countless seminars in knife fighting all over the world over the years, as well as producing training and instructional videos. Lynn develops most of the products himself or in cooperation with his team, which also has martial arts background. All knives are worked out down to the last detail and subjected to countless tests.
