So viel Power wie das Recon 1 haben wohl nur wenige Einsatzmesser. Der stabile Tactical Folder von Cold Steel ist ein echter Brecher und zeigt, wie stabil ein Messer sein kann. Besonders für Ordnungs- und Rettungskräfte ist dieses Werkzeug ein unverzichtbares Muss. Nicht nur schneidet sich der scharfe S35VN-Stahl durch so einige Materialien hindurch, auch hält sie extremen Belastungen stand. Letzteres nicht nur durch die Klingenstärke von 3,5 mm, sondern vor allem auch durch den Tri-Ad-Lock, der als einer der stabilsten Verschlüsse überhaupt gilt. Als einer von wenigen High-End-Stählen ist der S35VN bei dem Recon 1 eine optimale Wahl: Er ist überaus stabil und widerstandsfähig, korrosionsbeständig und bleibt lange scharf. Die schwarze DLC-Beschichtung auf der 10,2 cm langen Klinge schützt diese vor Kratzern und Verschmutzungen. Auch fallen einem die sehr stark texturierten Griffschalen ins Auge, durch die das Messer sicher und zuverlässig in der Hand bleibt und das bei gröbsten Bedingungen. Das Taschenmesser verfügt über einen Daumenpin und einen umsetzbaren Pocket-Clip am Ende des Griffes.
Cold Steel was founded in 1980 by Lynn C. Thompson and is based in California.
