The handmade Laguiole en Aubrac pocket knife has handle scales made of birch wood, which with its different natural grain is a beautiful and fitting handle material in combination with the fine matt stainless steel packs of the Laguiole knife. Thanks to the steel bolsters, the Laguiole knife has a robust handle construction. The traditional shepherd's cross (decoration of the handle) was realised by knifemakers with fine thin metal pins. The sharp, stainless blade is made of 12C27 Sandvik steel and can be easily resharpened and is ideal for everyday use. A stop prevents the blade from hitting the handle when it is closed. It floats in the hilt when closed and is thus protected from dulling.
When opened with two hands, the blade is secured by the forged spring and displays the overall aesthetics of the Laguiole knife. The nib with the bee was forged from one piece and particularly beautifully decorated by hand (French guilloche). This is a unique signature of the master smith and may differ from the photo, depending on which smith makes this pocket knife. So every knife from Laguiole en Aubrac is a beautiful one-of-a-kind, made in France.
