The Spartan Blades Harsey Nessmuk pays homage to classic American designs inspired by George Washington Sears (1821-1890) and the moderate, ergonomic designs of William W. Harsey Jr. George Washington Sears, also known by his pseudonym "Nessmuk," was a nature lover and adventurer who learned the skills he needed to survive in the wild under the tutelage of a local Narragansett Indian named Nessmuk. He became known for his writings and letters in the Forest and Stream magazine in the 1880s, popularising canoeing, Adirondack lakes, self-guided canoe camping trips and conservation.

Spartan Blades überzeugen Messerfreunde mit hochwertig gefertigen und einzigartig designten Taschenmessern und feststehenden Tactical Knives. In den verschiedensten Ausführungen kommen die stabilen Messer immer mit einer Top-Verarbeitung und einer guten Material-Auswahl. Statt Stainless Steel und 420er bekommt man hier richtig Leistung für sein Geld: von japanischem AUS-8 Stahl, über 1095er Cro-Van bishin zu pulvermetallurgischem CPM Stahl ist alles mit dabei! Gegründet wurde das Unternehmen von den pensionierten US-Army Special Forces Mark Carey und Curtis Iovito. Mit einer unvergleichlichen Expertise, die aus 40+ Jahren Berufserfahrung kommt, designen und fertigten die Beiden schon zu Militärszeiten die ersten eignenen Messer. Im Jahre 2008 erkannten sie ihr Potential und beschlossen taktische Einsatzmesser und Outdoormesser im größeren Stil zu fertigen. Spartan Blades war geboren.
Die Anfänge beliefen sich auf die Fertigung von Messern in einer alten Vorkriegs-Scheune, der Kundenstamm bestand aus Freunden, Bekannten, alten Kollegen und absoluten Messerfans. Heutzutage blickt das noch junge Unternehmen auf so einige Erfolge und gewonne Awards zurück, die sich Spartan Blades mit ausgefallenen Ideen und exzellenten Designs ergattern konnten. Mittlerweile wird weltweit geliefert und an mehreren Standorten produziert.

Die Elite Grade mit dem goldenen Logo weist nur Messer auf, die tatsächlich noch in Southern Pines, North Carolina hergestellt werden. Sie sind mit den exklusivsten Materialien ausgestattet und hauen jeden Messer-Kenner vom Hocker.
Die Pro Grade mit dem silbernen Logo werden in Zusammenarbeit mit Ka-Bar unter der Pineland Cutlery hergestellt. Auch "Proudly Made in USA" und ebenfalls hochqualitative, stabile Messer, die keinerlei Outdoor-Arbeit scheuen.
Die Field Grade, unterlegt von dem Bronze-Logo, kommt allen Messerfans entgegen, die ein nicht ganz so offenes Budget haben. Produziert wird im Ausland. So können die Messer günstiger angeboten werden. Trotz der guten Preise wurde hier nicht auf Billig-Material zurückgegriffen: AUS 8 und CTS-XHP-Stahl kommen genauso zum Einsatz G10 oder Kohlefaser.
