The Spartan Blades Horkos FDE is an impressive combat and utility knife that embodies the values of honor and duty. Inspired by Horkos, a figure from Greek mythology who was considered the guardian spirit of oaths and a curse for oath breakers, this knife is a symbol of loyalty and commitment. Originally designed for the Combat Weapons Team of the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, the knife combines precision, durability and functionality.
With a total length of 27.6 cm and a blade length of 14.4 cm, the Horkos offers a balanced size for a wide range of uses. The CPM MagnaCut blade achieves a hardness of 61 to 63 HRC and features a drop-point shape with single-sided grinding, a relieved distal back line and a tapered blade tip, which ensures exceptional stability. With a blade thickness of 4.8 mm, it is robust enough for demanding tasks and ensures a high cutting performance.
The durable SpartaCoat PVD coating in Flat Dark Earth (ZrN) gives the blade additional protection against external influences. The design is complemented by ergonomic handle scales made from CE Canvas Micarta in black, which ensure a secure and comfortable grip, even under extreme conditions. Weighing in at 252 g, the knife remains handy and well balanced.

The company was founded by retired US Army Special Forces Mark Carey and Curtis Iovito. With an unrivaled expertise that comes from 40+ years of professional experience, the two designed and manufactured their first custom knives while still in the military. In 2008, they recognized their potential and decided to produce tactical and outdoor knives on a larger scale. Spartan Blades was born.
The beginnings were spent making knives in an old pre-war barn, and the customer base consisted of friends, acquaintances, old colleagues and absolute knife fans. Today, the still young company can look back on a number of successes and awards won by Spartan Blades with its unusual ideas and excellent designs. The company now delivers worldwide and produces at several locations.

The Elite Grade with the golden logo only features knives that are actually still made in Southern Pines, North Carolina. They are equipped with the most exclusive materials and will knock the socks off any knife connoisseur.
The Pro Grade with the silver logo are produced in collaboration with Ka-Bar under Pineland Cutlery. Also “Proudly Made in USA” and also high quality, sturdy knives that are not afraid of any outdoor work.
The field grade, underlined by the bronze logo, is suitable for all knife fans who do not have such an open budget. Production takes place abroad. This means that the knives can be offered at a lower price. Despite the good prices, cheap material has not been used here: AUS 8 and CTS-XHP steel are used as well as G10 or carbon fiber.
