The robust Protecteur Black is the official knife of the French Army Air Force ALAT (Aviation Légère Armée Terre) and is used in particular by the crew of French combat helicopters.
The 11 cm long dagger blade is made of MOX steel and was provided with a black coating to minimize reflections in the field. The designer Philippe Perotti has equipped this dagger with a double-edged blade, one side has a flat grind and the other a serrated grind, this provides maximum flexibility in use and should allow a pilot to free himself quickly in an emergency situation by cutting the belt or other ropes quickly and easily. Lightweight PA6 polyamide was used for the ergonomically shaped handle, which is soft and comfortable in the hand, so that you can master your work with it perfectly. Of course, a lanyard hole may not be missing on this knife, simply attach a paracord cord to it and you have the practical Protecteur Black additionally secured in the hand.
