If you are looking for a massive outdoor knife for bushcrafting or a proper outdoor trip, the Rold SK-5 from Böker Plus is the best choice. Designed by knife designer Jesper Voxnaes, the Rold is especially designed for outdoor use. It impresses with exceptional stability and versatile handling, which is brought to a pretty high level by the blasted canvas micarta handle scales as well as the finger recess. It can be gripped both short and longer, depending on how fine you want the work to be. The SK-5 steel, from which the 15.7 cm long blade is made, offers particular robustness, edge retention and good resharpenability. The steel is especially popular for outdoor knives, tomahawks and bushcraft axes, which is why chopping is no problem. Since the steel is susceptible to corrosion, it is completely covered with a black powder coating to prevent blade damage. Of interest to fans of safety straps and paracord are the hollow rivets located in the handle, which can act as a safety strap loop with ease. With a blade thickness of 5 mm, the knife is not only incredibly robust, but the thumb rest also offers plenty of room for more precise guidance. The long driving knife is stowed in style in a practical nylon sheath with puncture protection.
