The Barlow Prime Tirpitz Damascus from Böker is another pocket knife with a historical past. This does not mean the typical teardrop shape of the handle, which was in use back to the 17th century, but the origin of the Tirpitz Damascus steel, which was already used in earlier knives from Böker. This steel was made from the steel of the largest battleship ever built in Europe. The Tirpitz was the sister ship of the famous Bismarck. During the Second World War she was sunk off the coast of Norway by an air bombing and after the end was exploited by a British company. This steel alloy in combination with carbon tool steels result in a special Damascus steel, which is forged by hand in the pattern " Large Pyramid " and thus has not only incredible cutting properties, but also an incredible history. The resulting 6.9 cm drop-point blade is opened by a nail nick and held in place by a slipjoint. This allows the knife to be carried on the street without any problems with the German law, as it is § 42A conform. A half-stop provides additional safety. For the handle, the liners with the black bolsters are milled from a piece of micarta, giving it stability. On these liners sit the handles made of locally grown walnut wood. Also included in the delivery is a felt case.
