Cold Steel entwarf zusammen mit Andrew Demko ein Messer, welches maximale Kraft und Stabilität in einer knapp 10 cm langen Klinge bündeln sollte. Das Ergebnis ist das 4-Max Elite. Aus modernsten Materialien gefertigt, füllt es den Raum zwischen Massenprodukt und Custom-Messer. Die sandgestrahlten G10 Griffschalen liegen auf extrem robusten Titanlinern und ergeben einen Griff, welcher auch bei großen Arbeiten nicht nachgibt. Die Drop-Point-Klinge aus dem High-End Stahl S35VN mit Stonewash-Finish ist durch seine 4,8 mm extra stark, um die Robustheit des Messers zu erhöhen, wobei der Designer darauf achtete, die Waage zwischen Schnitthaltigkeit und Stabilität zu halten. Die Cold Steel exclusive Tri-Ad®-Verriegelung arretiert die Klinge zuverlässig. Bei einem Test der Firma belasteten diese das Taschenmesser mit einem frei hängendem Gewicht von 360 kg. Es hielt die hohen Belastungen problemlos und ohne Schäden stand. Der umstellbare Taschenclip ermöglicht das angenehme Tragen des High-Class Messers.
Cold Steel was founded in 1980 by Lynn C. Thompson and is based in California. Lynn is a true martial arts expert who has been dedicated to the study of many martial arts since his early youth, including Ruy Karate, Thai Boxing, Wado, Jeet Kune Do, Kali and Jiu Jitsu. He is also an extremely good shooter and skilled hunter as well as an excellent fighter in stick fighting, sword fighting, sabre fencing and a master in all types of knife fighting.
