Cold Steel Chieftain Sax - historical working knife made of 1055 carbon steel, 34 cm long blade, brass guard and pommel, Malaysian Sal wood handle, original leather sheath included.
Designed in the Nordic style, the Chieftain Sax is the ideal knife for anyone who wants to express their attachment to the former Vikings. At that time, the Sax was a universally used tool that could not be missing from any belt, whereby the size and shape varied greatly among the knives. The model designed by Cold Steel comes with a 34 cm long blade made of 1055 carbon steel, which cuts effortlessly through even the thickest cut material. It is complemented by a handle made of Malaysian Sal wood, whose inlays give it a particularly grippy surface. The guard and pommel are made of fine brass with precise engravings. A leather sheath is included in the delivery, the construction of which is closely modelled on the original. This also includes the leather straps that hold the Chieftain Sax to the front or back of the belt.
Cold Steel was founded in 1980 by Lynn C. Thompson and is based in California. Lynn is a true martial arts expert who has been dedicated to the study of many martial arts since his early youth, including Ruy Karate, Thai Boxing, Wado, Jeet Kune Do, Kali and Jiu Jitsu. He is also an extremely good shooter and skilled hunter as well as an excellent fighter in stick fighting, sword fighting, sabre fencing and a master in all types of knife fighting. He practices his martial arts as a full-contact variant, with only a minimum of protective equipment. In addition, he has held countless seminars in knife fighting all over the world over the years, as well as producing training and instructional videos. Lynn develops most of the products himself or in cooperation with his team, which also has martial arts background. All knives are worked out down to the last detail and subjected to countless tests.
