Das Tiger Claw Serrated wurde von Andrew Demko entwickelt. Ursprünglich entwarf er als erfahrener Elektromeister und Ingenieur ein Mehrzweckmesser, was eigentlich für ihn gedacht war. Als er einige Zeit später von Cold Steel gebeten wurde ein Klappkarambit zu entwerfen nutzte er die Gelegenheit um sein Design zu verbreiten. Die Mischung aus einem Kampf-Karambit und einem Hawkbill-Arbeitsmesser ergab ein innovatives Werkzeug welches problemlos durch Seile, Kabel und Drähte kommt. Die 7,6 cm lange Klinge ist dank des Wellenschliffs perfekt dafür geeignet. Der verwendete Hochleistungsstahl CTS® XHP ist durch seine feinkörnige Struktur sehr schnitthaltig und kann scharf angeschliffen werden. Durch die Demko-Daumenscheibe lässt sie sich federleicht in die Arbeitsposition bringen und arretiert durch die Cold Steel exklusive Tri-Ad®-Verriegelung. CNC-gefräste, schwarze G10 Griffschalen und der Knaufring aus Aluminium in der gleichen Farbe ergänzen das taktische Aussehen.
Cold Steel was founded in 1980 by Lynn C. Thompson and is based in California. Lynn is a true martial arts expert who has been dedicated to the study of many martial arts since his early youth, including Ruy Karate, Thai Boxing, Wado, Jeet Kune Do, Kali and Jiu Jitsu. He is also an extremely good shooter and skilled hunter as well as an excellent fighter in stick fighting, sword fighting, sabre fencing and a master in all types of knife fighting. He practices his martial arts as a full-contact variant, with only a minimum of protective equipment. In addition, he has held countless seminars in knife fighting all over the world over the years, as well as producing training and instructional videos. Lynn develops most of the products himself or in cooperation with his team, which also has martial arts background. All knives are worked out down to the last detail and subjected to countless tests.
