The Laguiole Azobé is a masterpiece of French craftsmanship. It was made in the renowned manufactory in Aubrac, a region with a centuries-old tradition of knife making since 1829, and the experts from the workshops have handcrafted it with the utmost care and precision.
The model features a 10 cm blade made of high quality 12C27 Sandvik steel, known for its sharpness and edge retention. The handle made of elegant Azobé wood impresses with its coarse grain and noble dark color. The hard precious wood is framed by two polished nickel silver bolsters, which give the knife an appealing look. A finely chiselled back spring adorns the back of the handle and gives the knife its character. The blade finish is the classic "bee", a distinctive feature of pocket knives of this type. The handle design is rounded off by the traditional shepherd's cross, which can be seen discreetly on the wood. All components, including the handle, bolster and blade are polished for long-lasting beauty and durability. Laguiole en Aubrac ist bekannt durch seine hervorragenden, handgefertigten Laguiole Taschenmesser und Tafelbestecke, die nur in Frankreich in Espalion gefertigt werden. Jedes Messer wird in bis zu 216 Arbeitsschritten ganz traditionell von einem Messerschmied gefertigt, der sein ganzes Wissen, Geschick und Herz bis zur Fertigstellung des Laguiole-Messers gibt. In der Manufaktur Laguiole en Aubrac verziert ein Messerschmied per Hand den Rücken des Messers mit seiner eigenen Gravur, der sogenannten Guilloche, und gibt dem Messer damit ein unverkennbares Merkmal. Als Grifmaterialien werden wunderschöne Hölzer aus der Provinz, europäische und exotische Hölzer verwendet und passgenau bearbeitet. Die geschmiedeten Klingen werden aus unterschiedlichsten Damaststählen und rostfreiem Stahl hergestellt. So entstehen bei Laguiole en Aubrac einzigartige, exklusive Taschenmesser, die man gerne bei sich trägt und mit den Tafelbesteck den Esstisch zu einem wunderschönen Erlebnis verzaubern kann.
