The Monza Zirconium is a first-class one-handed knife from Sandrin Knives with a drop-point blade made from the manufacturer's typical tungsten carbide, which has an unusually high hardness of 71 HRC. This special material outshines any other steel in terms of abrasion resistance and edge retention. For a long time, the steel was unsuitable for knives due to its extremely high hardness. However, Allesandro Colombatto succeeded in overcoming this obstacle. Sandrin Knives knives are quite flexible and considerably less susceptible to breakage than models made of ceramic or the like. According to the manufacturer, the blade remains sharp 20 times longer than premium powder steels and is very resistant to rust. The Monza is supplied with a silver, DLC-coated titanium handle as standard. The Limited Edition, on the other hand, has a handle made of rare zirconium. Zirconium is only used for knives in the high-end custom sector, as it is not only more robust than titanium, but is also significantly more expensive due to the difficult procurement conditions. The 19.5 cm long knife has a Recoil Lock and a titanium clip.

Sandrin Knives is part of the Italian family business Turmond S.p.A., based in Turin, which has been dedicated to the material tungsten carbide for two generations. With their many years of experience, they have found ways to expand this remarkable material (tungsten carbide) and have been producing the most precise carbide components ever created by man ever since. The use of tungsten carbide for utility knife blades was considered impossible for a long time. Due to the extremely high degree of hardness and the associated increased sensitivity to breakage, the material in its previous form was unattractive for the knife industry until Alessandro Colombatto, owner of Turmond S.p.A., succeeded in finding an ideal composition for precisely this purpose. With a still unbelievable hardness of 71 HRC, Sandrin Knives blades are flexible, but also considerably more resistant to breakage than ceramic blades. Sandrin knives are made with the precision and expertise that only 40 years of experience in carbide grinding and the knowledge, experience and passion that has been passed down from father to son can provide. Sandrin Knives offers the finest, sharpest and most edge-holding knives the world has ever seen. As none of the gentleman's knives have a lock, none of them fall under the carrying restrictions of the German Weapons Act § 42a.
