Wow is this knife stylish! Sure, from The James Brand one is now used to nothing else, but the The Wayland All Black is probably the gentleman knife par excellence. In its all-black look, the slipjoint pocket knife looks almost dangerous. Originally, The Wayland can be traced back to the classic Barlow knife, which is also issued again and again in new variants by Böker, for example. But of course that would have been too simple for The James, which is why the Californian designers decided to give the Barlow a completely new look and raise it to modern standards. The combination of black stainless steel and also black G10 plastic is a real stunner, not least because of the eye-catching logo on the bolsters. A powder metallurgy blade steel was chosen for the blade body, which is known as CPM-S35VN. This keeps sharp for a long time and does not require intensive maintenance, so again, a big plus for the Wayland. The blade length is 7.6 cm, which is an excellent choice for an EDC knife. Last but not least, the phosphor bronze washers on which the blade rests ensure a smooth and clean blade action. In keeping with the classic style, this interpretation of the Barlow knife also does without a pocket clip, but The Wayland offers a generous lanyard loop through which a lanyard fits wonderfully.
