It all began with a young, enthusiastic blacksmith named Hoyt Buck, who was ahead of his time. He was looking for a way to extend the cutting life of steel. He sold his first knives, all handmade, in 1902, even taking worn, used blades as raw material. After the Second World War (1947), Hoyt and his son Al founded the company HH Buck & Sohn in San Diego. With the knife model 110 Folding Hunter and the Back-Lock, Al Buck revolutionized the knife industry in 1964. This blade safety system still holds a leading position until today. Hoyt's and Al Buck's ingenuity made the company famous worldwide.
Today, in the third and fourth family generation, BUCK KNIVES still has an ongoing passion for bringing new products and ideas to life.
