In der heutigen Zeit hat man vieles in den Taschen mit herumzutragen: Kopfhörer, Schlüssel, Handy, Portmonee,... die Liste nimmt kaum ein Ende. Deshalb hat Cold Steel bei der Entwicklung des Air Lite Drop Point das Hauptaugenmerk auf eine möglichst schmale Bauweise und ein geringes Gewicht bei dennoch gleichbleibender Funktionalität gelegt. Das Messer ist extrem dünn (8,8 mm), was viel Platz für andere nötige Gegenstände lässt. Die 8,9 cm lange Drop-Point Klinge besteht aus AUS-10A Stahl, der für eine stabile und scharfe Schneide sorgt. Über den doppelseitigen Daumenpin lässt sich das Taschenmesser leicht mit einer Hand öffnen, während der eigens von Cold Steel entwickelte Tri-Ad-Lock sicherstellt, dass die Klinge nicht ungewollt einklappt. Ein Griff aus stark texturiertem G10 sichert auch mit nassen Händen eine ausgezeichnete Griffigkeit. Der umsetzbare Taschenclip ermöglicht ein zuverlässiges Verankern des Air Lite Drop Point in der Hosentasche.
Cold Steel was founded in 1980 by Lynn C. Thompson and is based in California.
