If Batman had a pocket knife in his pocket, it would probably be the action-packed Kershaw Iridium Reverse Tanto Black. All black, uncompromisingly functional and with a price-performance ratio that could almost be a typo.
The 8.8 cm long reverse-tanto blade made of D2 steel not only reliably cuts through cardboard, rope and whatever else everyday life has to offer – it also looks damn good with the black-oxide finish. True to the motto: “Work hard, look sharp.” The ball-bearing blade can be opened with the thumb stud with the greatest of ease and is held securely in place by the DuraLock locking mechanism – nothing wobbles, nothing jams, everything is in its place.
The black anodized aluminum handle not only looks cool, but also sits comfortably and securely in your hand – even when things get a little rough. The lanyard hole and the repositionable deep-carry clip (tip-up) give you maximum flexibility when carrying: left, right, low, high – however you like.
And since we're talking about a knife with character here, here's a little nerd fact to top it off: Iridium is ranked 77th in the periodic table. I wonder if Kershaw was thinking of chemistry or coolness when they came up with that ranking? Probably both – because this knife definitely has more than just elements to offer.
In short: the iridium is the black T-shirt of knives – always a good fit, always looks good and is just damn practical.

Kershaw was founded in Portland, Oregon in 1974. Many well-known knife designers such as Ken Onion from Hawaii, Grant Hawk and his son Gavin, Launce Barber and others develop interesting knives for Kershaw. Some models come with Ken Onion's SpeedSafe mechanism, which manually raises the blade slightly, then a spring ensures the blade opens in a flash.
