Kershaw's Strata XL is a modern interpretation of the classic Spanish Navaja knives that have long been the typical knives of workers and the form of which is still used today. The Strata XL picks up on this shape and brings the working knife into modern times. The impressive blade is 13.7 cm long and made of high-quality D2 tool steel. Thanks to the ball bearings on which it is mounted and the flipper, the blade slides into the open position with ease and a solid frame lock holds it there safely and reliably. Opened, the modern folding knife with its overall length of 30.5 cm is a truly impressive appearance. Despite the knife's size, it has impressive capabilities for fine and precise cutting work. The handle is equipped with black G-10 on the showside and the axle screw has a copper-coloured trim whose appearance is also reflected in the spacer. The pocket knife can be carried discreetly in the trouser pocket with a deep-carry clip.

Kershaw was founded in Portland, Oregon in 1974. Many well-known knife designers such as Ken Onion from Hawaii, Grant Hawk and his son Gavin, Launce Barber and others develop interesting knives for Kershaw. Some models come with Ken Onion's SpeedSafe mechanism, which manually raises the blade slightly, then a spring ensures the blade opens in a flash.
