The MFK2 pocket knife from Marttiini is a handy and beautiful knife for everyday use. It has an 8.2 cm long stainless steel blade made of Japanese 420 JS steel. The thumb pin on both sides allows the blade to be opened quickly. The practical liner lock system takes care of the locking. The grooved thumb rest allows the knife to be guided very well when working. The handle scales made of light burl birch wood are also very nice. With the stainless steel clip on the back, the knife can be attached to clothing during transport. At the end of the handle is a long lanyard loop.
Die finnische Messerschmiede Marttiini ist bekannt für ihre hochwertigen Jagd- und Anglermesser. Der Gründer Janne Marttiinni begann 1902 in dem ländlichen Dorf Kierinki im nördlichen Finnland handgefertigte Messer, Sensen und Äxte herzustellen. Im Jahre 1928 eröffnete er im Ort Rovaniemi seine eigene Schmiede, in der er eine Vielzahl an stabilen und gut verarbeiteten Messern herstellte. Schnell wuchs die Nachfrage. 1940 baute Marttiini seine erst Fabrik, die 1944 während des zweiten Weltkrieges teilweise zerstört wurde. Nach dem Krieg ist die Fabrik im Zentrum von Rovaniemie wieder aufgebaut worden. Heutzutage ist an dem Standpunkt der Werksverkauf und nennt sich "Marttiini's Old Factory". Aufgrund der vielen verschiedenen Messermodelle und das stätige Wachstum wurde 1972 eine neue, moderne Fertigungstätte gebaut, in der bis zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt die Messer gefertigt werden. Mehr als 300 unterschiedliche Modelle werden auch heute noch in traditioneller Handarbeit hergestellt und stetig verbessert. Outdoor-Enthusiasten, Sammler, Köche und viele andere professionelle Nutzer wissen die hervorragende Qualität der Marttiini Messer zu schätzen und haben es stets als treuen Begleiter dabei.
