- Order number: HK-17-BL-BLUE
The name for this knife is the result of designer Miguel Barbudo's love for Spanish history. So the Legio IX BL Blue was created by him and Hydra Knives. Some info on the very historical name: Its name comes from the mythical Ninth Legion of the Spanish. It carried a bull as its banner and was one of the oldest and most feared units of the Roman army. It was recruited by Pompey from among the indigenous Hispanic warriors: Celts, Iberians and Celtiberians; It served as early as 42 BC in Macedonia, in the Balkans, in Africa against the Numidians, on the Rhine against the fearsome Germanic tribes and in the conquest of Gaul in the service of Julius Caesar. According to legend, they disappeared in the 2nd century when it fought in a suicidal campaign in overwhelming inferiority in the region of Judea, oddly enough in the service of the great Hispanic emperor Adriano.
But enough of the history teaching, let's take a look at this tactical beauty.
The 18 cm long PVD-coated clip point blade made of cryogenically hardened Sleipner steel is very robust and equipped with an excellent hollow grind. This makes this knife a biting cutting devil. The full tang construction guarantees maximum stability and reliability in every situation.
The ergonomic handle made of blue G10 not only gives the Legio IX BL Blue a stylish look, but also ensures a firm and secure grip. The knife was designed with passion and precision by renowned designer Miguel Barbudo and manufactured in Spain.
With an overall length of 31 cm and a weight of no less than 580 g, the Legio is not one of the smaller, lighter EDC knives. The included Kydex sheath with nylon belt loop makes it easy and comfortable to carry so that you are always ready to take on any challenge.
Join Miguel Barbudo, a very traditional knifemaker with strong ties to his homeland, who combines Spanish tradition with the modern world in his models. If the Ninth Legion had had such a great Legio IX BL Blue, they would certainly have had a grin on their faces. If you want a grin like that, then you know what to do.
