Dragon Tokuni Wakizashi

In ancient Japan, the wakizashi was much more than just a companion sword to the katana – it was a symbol of honor, loyalty, and personal pride for a samurai. The fantastic John Lee Dragon Tokuni Wakizashi continues this rich tradition and presents itself as a particularly elegant and artistic variation of the popular Dragon Katana. Hand-forged in the classic Shinogi-Zukuri style, the blade is made of 1045 carbon steel and features a precise fuller (Bo-Hi) and a carefully crafted Hamon line, which not only looks impressive but also recalls the great blacksmithing skills of centuries past.

With its 52 cm long blade and high-gloss lacquered wooden scabbard in Kuroro style, this wakizashi combines functionality with impressive aesthetics. The tsuba, made of dark metal, features an intricately crafted Japanese dragon that appears to circle the sword – a symbol of power, wisdom, and protection that is still revered today in the Japanese New Year celebrations. Other decorative elements such as fuchi, menuki, and kashira are also dedicated to the dragon motif and create a harmonious, mystically charged overall appearance.

The wooden handle is lined with genuine stingray skin and wrapped in black cotton in the Hineri-Maki style – a traditional technique that guarantees a secure grip and an authentic look. The blade has a long tang that is securely anchored in the handle with two bamboo Mekugi – in keeping with classic Japanese craftsmanship.
