When the morning mist still hangs over the lake and the water is as smooth as glass, the perfect day of fishing begins in Finland – calm, focused, and with the right tools at hand. The Marttiini Classic 15 filleting knife was created precisely for this purpose. For generations, this filleting knife has accompanied Finnish anglers on their trips through unspoiled nature. It symbolizes the combination of functionality, craftsmanship, and Nordic tradition.
The 15 cm long, flexible stainless steel blade is precisely tailored to the needs of filleting: sharp, flexible, and precise. It glides effortlessly through fish fillets and ensures clean cuts without exertion. The blade steel is rustproof and easy to clean – ideal for use right by the water. The handle made of lacquered birch wood is not only a true classic of Finnish knife craftsmanship, but also lies securely and comfortably in the hand, even when wet. The clear lacquer coating provides optimum protection for the wood against moisture.
The total length of 27 cm makes the knife particularly well-balanced, which makes it even easier and more controlled to handle. This Marttiini fish knife is rounded off by a high-quality leather sheath with traditional Finnish patterns, which both protects and looks stylish. Thanks to the belt loop, the knife is always within reach – whether on the river, lake, or when preparing your catch.
Made in Finland, the Marttiini Classic 15 filleting knife is a genuine piece of Nordic fishing heritage. It is not just a tool, but a reliable companion that completes the experience on the water. If you appreciate the tranquility of nature, the catch of the day, and a clean fillet, this is the knife for you – in the spirit of Finnish fishing tradition.

The Finnish knife maker Marttiini is known for its high-quality hunting and fishing knives. Founder Janne Marttiinni began producing handmade knives, scythes and axes in the rural village of Kierinki in northern Finland in 1902. In 1928, he opened his own forge in Rovaniemi, where he produced a wide range of sturdy and well-crafted knives. Demand quickly grew. In 1940, Marttiini built his first factory, which was partially destroyed in 1944 during the Second World War. After the war, the factory was rebuilt in the center of Rovaniemie. Today, the factory shop is located on the site and is called “Marttiini's Old Factory”. Due to the many different knife models and the constant growth, a new, modern production facility was built in 1972, where the knives are still manufactured today. More than 300 different models are still produced by hand using traditional methods and are constantly being improved. Outdoor enthusiasts, collectors, chefs and many other professional users appreciate the outstanding quality of Marttiini knives and always have them with them as a loyal companion.
