Das Stonewash-Finish schützt dabei die Oberfläche zusätzlich vor Korrosion und lässt Kratzer weniger störend hervortreten. Besonders bei diesem Modell ist die Signatur von Lynn Thompson, dem Gründer von Cold Steel, die auf der linken Messerseite zu finden ist. Der Kray-Ex Griff in OD Green liegt mit seiner rauen Oberfläche sicher in der Hand, auch bei Nässe. Das ermöglicht einen präzisen und sicheren Umgang unter jeder Bedingung. Eine Secure-Ex Messerscheide schützt das Leatherneck Bowie Lynn Thompson beim Transport und ermöglicht das Anbringen des Messers an der Ausrüstung.
