The Taranis Black from FKMD (Fox Knives Military Division) is a convincing tactical knife, made in Italy. Equipped with a black coated, 18.8 cm long blade made of N690 steel and with a blade thickness of 5 cm, the knife brings enough stability to perform versatile tasks. The special surface coating of the blade is PTFE-based, this is extremely resistant to environmental influences, minimizes friction and offers high abrasion resistance. As handle material FKMD uses Forprene, which has proven itself for tough outdoor applications. Equipped with a Double Guard as hand protection as well as a slight offset to the cutting edge, the Taranis has been further perfected. The knife lies securely in the hand even in damp environments and can be easily handled even with gloves. A MOLLE-compatible nylon sheath is used for transport, allowing the knife to be attached to gear or the man in different ways as needed.
Forprene® offers a wide range of specifications:
Excellent UV, ozone and weathering resistance.
Excellent resistance to various chemical agents such as alkalis, acids, alcohols, detergents, water solutions, solvents
Very good fatigue resistance
High thermal and electrical insulation
Good abrasion resistance
