The steel used, known as 1.4116 (X50CrMoV15), contains around 0.55 % carbon and 15 % chromium. This composition not only ensures excellent edge retention, but also high resistance to rust and wear, which makes the knife particularly easy to care for and durable.The blade of the rustic pocket knife measures approx. 10 cm in length and has a spine thickness of 2.5 mm. Its spherical grind geometry gives it a stable cutting edge that also enables fine, precise cuts. The straight back of the blade only drops slightly near the tip, giving the blade excellent stability, while the slim tip is ideal for precise cutting work. This blade geometry, which is reminiscent of the traditional sheepfoot blade, makes the IBEX 100 the perfect tool for versatile outdoor use.

Another highlight of this Solingen original is the ratchett lock, a modern and secure development of the classic tang lock. The locking mechanism ensures that the blade is securely locked in place and can be opened effortlessly with two hands using the nail nick. As soon as the blade engages in the back spring, it is firmly locked and ready for use. To close the knife, the spring is released via a ring on the handle, which allows the blade to fold in in a controlled manner and at the same time prevents accidental slamming. Thanks to this safe handling, the knife also complies with the requirements of the German Weapons Law.

The handle of the stylish Windmühlen knife is made of fine smoked oak, which impresses with its deep dark color, ranging from dark brown to almost black. The wood is carefully crafted and oiled, which not only gives it a luxurious look, but also a pleasant feel.
