Böker 150th Anniversary Knives

150 years of knives from Böker! That is definitely a very good reason to celebrate. And of course they therefore want all their customers and fans to share in this memorable anniversary. That is why Böker is presenting you with a very unusual series of unique models. The damask blades of these exclusive knives are literally a piece of living history from the Böker manufactory.

In the old days, before electricity became the standard, steam power was the main source of energy for the numerous machines used in manufacturing. This centrally generated steam power was conducted through large flywheels and transmission belts across the entire manufacture to the individual machines and thus drove the various machines. One of these huge transmission wheels still stands today as a memento on the Böker company premises, keeping alive the memory of the early days of this company and the changes it has undergone over the last century and a half.

To do this, Böker took a solid piece from the shaft of this transmission wheel and used it to forge the 180-layer damascus steel in the Raindrop pattern, which is crafted by Chad Nichols for this exclusive anniversary edition. So every owner of a knife from this series holds a genuine and authentic piece of Böker history in their hands. This unique path to the creation of this rare blade material and the efforts involved would like to be understood as a sign of appreciation towards their customers, who have supported Böker with their loyalty, fidelity and pleasure in the products over 15 decades.

Each knife is equipped with a handle whose historical significance is hardly inferior to that of the blade: Böker's tree logo famously traces back to a giant chestnut tree that stood on Böker's first company site. And although this chestnut was felled by a thunderstorm in the early 20th century, the smoked chestnut wood of the handle scales reflects the memory of the origin of the world-famous logo in an inimitable way in every single example of this series. A custom anniversary emblem embedded in the scales adds a noble accent. Each knife is handmade in the Solingen manufactory and strictly limited to 150 pieces worldwide. It is delivered with an individual serial number in an anniversary frame display and with a certificate of authenticity.
