Once again, KAI has succeeded in combining traditional and modern knife making and forging with ease to create great chef's knives that turn work in the kitchen into a real experience. The KAI Seki Magoroku Composite series is a stroke of genius without equal. With their minimalist design, at first glance they give the impression of being ordinary, traditional chef's knives from Japan. Especially the light-colored handle made of fine, lengthwise grained pakkawood, especially in combination with the Japanese characters, invite this assumption. But far from it!
The clearly visible seam lines in the blades of the high class chef's knives are a real eye-catcher, which could simply be a design decision. However, this is only half the truth. In fact, two blade steels are manufactured separately and then joined together with liquid copper. This creates a striking copper seam. SUS 42012 steel is used for the back of the blade, while VG-MAX steel is used for the cutting edge, the heart of every knife. It doesn't get much better than this! Precision, edge retention, rust resistance and long-lasting sharpness are therefore guaranteed.
