Finely grained wooden handles and fine Damascus steel blades make the Japanese chef's knives from the KAI Shun Classic White series something very special. While the stylish and traditional character of the KAI chef's knives looks back on the centuries of forging experience of the Japanese samurai, the production of these beautiful kitchen knives is an example of the most modern and sophisticated technology. As the light-colored version of the Shun Classic series, the “Shun Classic White” model series was able to claim the German Design Award 2021 for itself. And no wonder!
The handles are made of light-colored pakkawood, which is durable and moisture-resistant thanks to the resin treatment. However, special attention is paid to the extremely sharp blades - these consist of a VG Max blade core, which is surrounded by 32 layers of Damascus steel. With a hardness of 61 HRC and the general construction of the blade, the Japanese kitchen knives from KAI offer long-lasting sharpness and edge retention at a professional level.
The Shun knives are made by hand.
