Named after a famous 14th-century blacksmith, Kanetsune has been producing high-quality traditional knives since 1930. Starting with hunting knives, the company expanded its range in 1948 to include Japanese chef's knives, which enjoy great popularity worldwide. With the founding of Kitasho Co, Ltd, Kanetsune moved in a more modern direction. Knifemaker Kitasho has been the head of the company ever since and is largely responsible for the design. The quality of these knives, made in the Japanese blade city, is based on the combination of industrial production and masterly craftsmanship.
