The large paring knife from the Yaxell Taishi Collection impresses at first glance. The Tsuchime finish of the blade, which is also known as the hammered finish, makes a great first impression and immediately gives the impression that you are holding real Japanese craftsmanship in your hands. Especially in combination with the wavy line on the cutting edge, a very elegant overall appearance is created. This is created by mixing different steels (a stainless steel sheath layer and a VG-10 super stainless steel core layer). This VG-10 blade core gives the Yaxell knife exceptional sharpness and edge retention. The blade of the Nakiri knife is 16.5 cm long.
Thanks to the wide blade thickness, the Nakiri can also be used for chopping. The Tsuchime finish, which gives the chef's knife a non-stick property, is particularly practical. The indentations in the steel create air pockets between the blade and the food being cut, ensuring that nothing sticks to the blade.
The ergonomic handle is made of black beech pakkawood and offers a nice contrast to the blade and an excellent feel.
