Eickhorn - Steel description
Behind the different steel designations of the Eickhorn knives lies a variety of high-quality steel grades that have been specially selected for different requirements and applications. By using different types of steel, Eickhorn is able to draw on a wide range of steel suppliers worldwide, which is particularly advantageous for large-scale production for the military and government sectors.
Professional
Steel 1.4110, or 440A, is used here. This steel is characterised by good corrosion resistance and balanced hardness, making it a reliable choice for everyday use. The ease of sharpening also speaks for itself.
Professional Plus
In this variant, the popular Böhler N 695 steel, also known as 440C, is used. This steel offers outstanding hardness and edge retention and is therefore ideal for more demanding tasks.
Professional Enhanced
Eickhorn use the high-quality Böhler K 110 steel, also known as 1.2379 or D2. This steel is known for its excellent edge retention and hardness and is perfect for use in challenging environments. These steel grades are used in many knives around the world.
