Tanto blade
The Tanto blade is a Japanese blade shape. It has been forged in Japan for over 1000 years. It usually has a completely straight back and belly. The tip is at the level of the spine and therefore unsuitable for cutting. The tanto therefore belongs to the stabbing weapons. Tanto blades have the most stable tips among knives. In America, the blade shape was reworked again and used for combat knives.
