Silky Bigboy Outback Customer Report
Bigboy Outback by Silky
One thing right from the start...
The Silky Bigboy Outback is a true saw monster!
I have worked with many folding saws out in the forest - from the cheap version from the discount store to the high-priced folding chipping saw from Canada...but none of them have really flashed me - in new German - like the Japanese saw from Silky. I took my time with my review because I wanted to test my Silky saws over a longer period of time. I own the PocketBoy Outback and now also the BigBoy Outback, both of which have proven themselves with flying colours in the field. The fact that I chose the "Outback" edition is honestly due to the look alone - this series simply has the absolute outdoor and bushcraft vibes for me - but that is of course only my own subjective opinion...
Here are a few dry facts and specifications about the Silky Bigboy (they are not unimportant...are they? )

If you want to play it safe and are looking for a compact and slim folding saw for upcoming outdoor adventures, I can only recommend the Silky BigBoy. The blade eats through all kinds of wood almost by itself without too much effort - whether dry, wet or fresh wood. I myself have even cut an entire EU pallet into manageable, small pieces of firewood in no time at all. According to the manufacturer, the Outback Edition is even suitable for cutting bones...but I have not yet had the opportunity to do so... Perhaps the fact that the Silky saws are purely pull saws will put some people off, but I am sure that after a maximum of 3 minutes, everyone will have made friends with this special type of saw tooth. The practical snap lock allows the saw blade to be easily and absolutely securely locked in two different positions, as required...
My conclusion:
Whether PocketBoy, GomBoy or the BigBoy, Standard or Outback Edition...I can openly and honestly recommend any of the Silky saws. From me, the Japanese saw wonders definitely get 10 out of 10 possible points!
Best wishes to all outdoor and bushcraft enthusiasts and see you soon in the forest :o)
