EDC Flashlight NEBO Torchy 2K

My experience report on the EDC torch NEBO Torchy 2K.

I've always been a fan of equipment, knives and torches, and have held and owned many things over the years. The small Torchy 2K appealed to me from the start with its looks and I couldn't get it out of my head. The Fragpattern pattern and the design of the lamp are modern and yet timelessly simple. With the orange/black switch on the side and the grey coating, the lamp is a good blend between tactical and civilian looks.

The hand position is good and the textured aluminium feels secure and not uncomfortable in the hand. The dimensions of the compact torch make it an excellent daily companion for EDC equipment. Since I usually carry my torch in my trouser pocket or a jacket pocket, the size of the torch is very convenient.

The clip holds the lamp securely in place and is designed so that the lamp can also be attached to the visor of a cap to replace a headlamp.



The equipment includes a magnetic charging adapter with which the battery can be conveniently charged inside the lamp body via a USB connection. In my test, this also worked without problems and quite quickly. My normal battery charger did not manage to charge the 18650 battery of the NEBO significantly faster.

I really got into it when I switched it on for the first time. The switch has a good pressure point and conveys a feeling of safety and quality. The operation of the lamp is very simple and intuitive. I find the option of starting the lamp in dimmed low mode or, if required, directly in high-power mode extremely convenient. This way, the right light is always available at the right time. When switching between the individual modes, the light is changed "gently" and the dimming up and down is not unpleasant for the eyes.

With the full power of the 18650 battery, the small EDC lamp shines for a distance of 200 metres. The cleverly designed mirror creates a light pattern with a powerful spot that reaches into the distance and is surrounded by a spill that tapers off towards 0. This gives you a wide-area illumination at close distances and, thanks to the spot, an enormous range without having to adjust the lamp.

I have been using the Torchy 2K on a daily basis for a few weeks now and it has proved to be very reliable during dog walks in the woods and fields, as well as on URBEX tours and hikes. I have used it several times in heavy weather, which did not affect the lamp at all.
Only the aluminium coating has been damaged in a few places, but that doesn't bother me personally in the slightest. "Scars show that we have lived!

In the end, the Torchy 2K fitted into my EDC rotation and doesn't have to hide in the slightest from torches that are sometimes significantly more expensive.

A real small price-performance miracle with outstanding performance!
